Gold Coast-based band Double Lined Minority plays to the heart of modern pop punk for an all-age audience. DLM’s move from the garage to venues across Australia and Asia have earned them the esteem of being “one of the hardest working bands [who] have delivered a mature and polished sound that is of the quality of a band signed to a major label” (Australian Musician Network). Their metaphorical, thought-provoking lyrics supported by an energetic, sometimes summery sound echo the storytelling of influential bands such as Motion City Soundtrack, Foo Fighters, and Fall Out Boy.

Eddie Salazar (vocals/guitar) and Cameron Griffiths (vocals/guitar) formed DLM in 2009 after meeting on the set of a high school musical. With Jack Merriman, they released their first album, “With Fingers Crossed” in 2010. The singles and their first music videos for “Fireworks” and “Ex On Christmas” were released before 2012.

By 2014, DLM had twice played The Big Day Out, twice appeared on Toasted TV, picked up Blair Klein (bass), and released their first self-produced, recorded, and engineered EP, “Calling All Liars”. Their tour of Australia and The Philippines saw them open for Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Smash Mouth, Razorback, and Greyhoundz.

The 2014 release of “White Flag”, which was written after Typhoon Haiyan devastated Eddie’s homeland of The Philippines, centred DLM as a relevant voice in pop punk culture. The single launched the band’s national Australian tour as well as a high school tour with Headspace Southport, which raised mental health awareness for teens. DLM ended the year with a new Christmas single and music video covering “Jingle Bell Rock”.
